About the role#
Assured Guaranty is hiring two interns for the Municipal Surveillance General Obligation team. You will work full-time (35 hours per week) for an 8-week summer term, followed by a part-time position (up to 20 hours per week) during the 2027-2028 academic year. This role involves managing data that our analysts use for surveillance reviews and reports.
What you'll do#
- Collect and input data from news articles, financial websites, obligor websites, and financial statements.
- Review annual disclosures and financial statements to identify trends in liquidity, reserves, and economic conditions.
- Organize information for the company electronic data management system.
- Help analysts prepare monthly sector review presentations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program, ideally majoring in Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.
- A minimum 3.5 GPA.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and pay close attention to detail.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfort using various internal and external IT systems and software.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, NY.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $30 to $32 per hour.
- Benefits: Weekly catered breakfast and lunch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, plus intern events and meals. A housing stipend may be available for those living outside the tri-state area during the summer program.
