About the role#
Assured Guaranty is hiring a Tax Intern for a 10-week assignment during the summer of 2027. You will join the Finance team in New York to help with tax return preparation and financial statement disclosures.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of GAAP and insurance statutory income tax provisions.
- Prepare supporting documentation and work papers including M-1 and M-3 tax adjustment schedules.
- Help prepare federal and state income tax returns.
- Assist with state premium and municipal tax filings.
- Calculate quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments.
- Prepare extensions and related filings.
What you'll need#
- Current studies in Finance or Accounting are preferred.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work well in a team setting.
- A self-starting attitude.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position located in New York, New York.
- Compensation ranges from $30 to $32 per hour.
- The firm provides catered breakfast and lunch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, along with intern-specific meals and events.
- A housing stipend may be available for those living outside of the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut tri-state area.
