About the role#
The Municipal Surveillance team at Assured Guaranty is hiring a full-time intern for the summer of 2027. You will work with senior analysts to monitor municipal bonds within the special tax and special district sectors. This involves collecting and organizing data to support credit evaluations, surveillance reviews, and team reports.
What you'll do#
- Review financial statements, annual disclosures, Material Event Notices, and legal documents for compliance.
- Collect and input data from financial websites, news articles, and financial statements.
- Organize data for internal electronic systems to ensure quick access.
- Help analysts prepare monthly sector review presentations.
- Participate in training on internal systems and data retrieval methods.
What you'll need#
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a 4-year degree program, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while remaining detail oriented and organized.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, New York.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 8 to July 30).
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $30 to $32 per hour.
- Perks: Weekly catered breakfast and lunch on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, plus intern events. A housing stipend may be available for those residing outside of the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut tri-state area.
