About the role#
Stantec is seeking an Environmental Services Intern for our team in Okemos, Michigan. This position involves supporting environmental investigation, compliance, and remediation projects. You will work under the guidance of senior staff who review your deliverables and decisions. This role is offered on a rolling basis and requires on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
- Assist with research, assessments, reports, and calculations.
- Compile and manage project field data.
- Conduct field work, including construction observation and sampling for air, soil, and water.
- Coordinate with senior staff and multidisciplinary team members to meet project needs.
- Design and implement project components within your experience level.
- Adhere to all safety standards, policies, and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related engineering or scientific field, with junior or senior status preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 lbs.
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally for project requirements.
- A valid driver license with a safe driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- AutoCAD experience and 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper training are considered assets.
