About the role#
ICF is seeking an Energy Engineer Intern to join our energy advisory team for a 10-week, full-time program. You will work on multiple projects alongside staff to support our North American and global energy consulting business. This role focuses on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and distributed energy resources.
What you'll do#
- Develop and manage project documentation.
- Support the implementation and development of natural gas emerging technologies.
- Research trends in technology development and manufacturing.
- Read, interpret, and critique project or system design drawings.
- Apply your technical background to evaluate new technologies.
- Document your reviews and analyses in a way that is clear for non-technical clients.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 30 college-level credit hours by the start date.
- Current pursuit of a degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering, or Environmental Sciences.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, VBA, or Python.
- Ability to read and understand project engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- A strong interest in energy efficiency and distributed energy resources.

- Term: Summer 2027, beginning in early June.

- Compensation: $23 per hour.
