About the role#
We are hiring an Electrical Engineering student for a 4-month co-op term starting in January 2027. You will work with our Buildings group in St. John's, receiving training and mentorship from experienced engineers and senior technologists. This role provides hands-on experience on projects for both public and private sector clients.
What you'll do#
- Review and interpret industry codes and standards.
- Conduct engineering design calculations.
- Assist design teams with fundamental engineering tasks.
- Support internal efforts to improve department operations.
- Perform data collection and verification at client facilities.
- Review 3D models using visualization software.
- Provide field representation and interpret drawings.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 1.5 years of an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to solve problems using sound judgment and creativity.
- Capability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- A self-motivated approach to learning and working within a team.
