About the role#
StandardAero is seeking Mechanical Engineering students for the Winter 2027 term. This internship provides hands-on experience within the Repair Development team, where you will support aviation component manufacturing and maintenance operations. This is a paid, on-site position based in Winnipeg.
What you'll do#
- Develop repair procedures for engine components and non-conforming parts.
- Evaluate reprocess costs and suggest methods for reduction.
- Perform technical manual reviews and create electronic manual revisions.
- Review and implement tooling requirements for the shop floor.
- Write technical reports and coordinate process improvement initiatives.
- Analyze engine performance and research alternative cleaning, plating, thermal spraying, and coating methods.
- Assist with engine and accessories troubleshooting.
- Support facility improvements, maintenance projects, and energy efficiency initiatives to ensure safe operations.
- Complete other assigned engineering projects.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least the first year of Engineering studies.
- Understanding of basic mechanical engineering principles.
- Proficiency with computers and MS Office.
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, plus leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Availability for the full winter term, lasting 4 to 8 months, starting in late January or February 2027.
