About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Byron Center, Michigan. You will gain hands-on experience in the wholesale grocery industry by supporting various finance functions and working alongside professional teams. The program includes mentorship, networking opportunities, and professional development workshops.
What you'll do#
- Support departments such as General Accounting, Gross Profits, Retail Accounting, Financial Planning, Tax, and Financial Services.
- Assist with daily operations, administrative tasks, and the preparation of reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with business partners in areas like transportation, operations, IT, procurement, and HR.
- Use and receive training on tools including Oracle Fusion, Excel, and Smartview.
- Improve department processes, templates, and methodologies.
- Complete special projects and deliver an end-of-internship presentation to showcase your learning.
- Attend meetings, contribute ideas, and build professional relationships across the company.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Accounting or Finance.
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with the Microsoft 365 suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate with others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn.
