About the role#
The Financial Services department provides accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and income tax services for independent grocery stores that use SpartanNash as their wholesale provider. This internship focuses on supporting our team through the year-end tax filing season.
What you'll do#
- Prepare Michigan Personal Property Tax Returns.
- Prepare Federal and State business income tax returns, including partnership, corporate, and S corporation filings.
- Prepare Federal and State individual income tax returns.
- Prepare quarterly Federal and State estimated tax payments.
- Assist with tax planning and research.
- Prepare client memorandums and handle additional tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in an Accounting degree program working toward a B.A. or B.S.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and within a team, maintaining poise and confidentiality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational, prioritization, and detail-oriented skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office products.
- Ability to take initiative and seek learning opportunities.

- Location: Byron Center, Michigan.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 20th through April 17th).
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment type: Full time, paid internship.
