About the role#
This internship focuses on a process improvement initiative for invoice-only purchase orders. You will evaluate current workflows, identify bottlenecks, and research technology to streamline operations. You will work on a specific project throughout the summer, culminating in a presentation of your findings and recommendations to leadership.
What you'll do#
- Conduct buyer time studies and process mapping for invoice-only PO workflows.
- Analyze data to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Research technology solutions compatible with SAP S/4HANA.
- Develop a business case to support automation opportunities.
- Evaluate policy-based alternatives, such as credit card program enhancements.
- Create a project timeline and provide regular progress updates.
- Collaborate with peers and leaders on various projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems.
- Experience with process mapping, time studies, or data analytics projects.
- Exposure to business case development or financial analysis.
- Knowledge of automation, digital transformation, or enterprise technology solutions.
- Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Awareness of sustainability issues, best practices, and industry trends.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
