About the role#
This internship is part of the High Voltage Project Management Organization. You will support a maturing PMO by strengthening project governance, financial visibility, and execution performance. You will work on practical projects that help translate processes into repeatable execution and reliable data. You will be assigned a project at the start of the summer and present your findings at a leadership expo at the end of the term.
What you'll do#
- Align actual project execution with PMO software, ensuring tollgates, risks, schedules, and financials are captured accurately.
- Assist with project financial analysis, including as-sold versus actual cost comparisons, margin tracking, and project-level reporting.
- Improve KPI reporting, dashboards, and action item tracking.
- Partner with project managers and stakeholders to identify process gaps and suggest improvements.
- Support productivity initiatives through data analysis, process mapping, and implementation follow-up.
- Organize project post-mortems to capture lessons learned and evaluate operational performance.
- Assist the Sales and Commercial teams by improving business intelligence, pipeline visibility, and quote process discipline.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum 3.2 GPA.
- Proficiency in Excel and strong analytical skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- A demonstrated interest in project management or structured problem-solving.
- Experience with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
- A Project Management Certificate such as CAPM is desirable.
