About the role#
This is a paid, full-time summer internship based in Melbourne, Florida. You will work alongside experienced engineers within the Electro-Optical and Infrared Systems line of business. This role provides hands-on experience in a 12 to 14 week program designed to introduce you to our engineering methods, programs, and daily practices.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with various assignments and project tasks.
- Conduct testing in engineering lab environments or during outdoor field tests.
- Perform imaging analysis under direct supervision.
- Document requirements, verification plans, and test results.
- Provide regular progress reports and ensure tasks are finished on time.
- Support the development of plant layouts, manufacturing methods, and process improvements.
- Coordinate maintenance projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program with at least 2 years of college completed.
- A GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Familiarity with Matlab and experience using lab equipment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both on a team and independently.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain or maintain an active DOD security clearance.
