About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineer I, you will support the design, development, testing, and deployment of mechanical structures and systems for the aerospace and defense sectors. You will work within a production environment to deliver technical solutions and ensure high-quality performance throughout the product lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems.
- Support the creation and execution of test plans for mechanical products.
- Perform basic analyses and simulations to validate designs.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports for review.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design requirements are met.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design and testing issues.
- Apply systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to develop mechanical designs.
- Communicate technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members and management.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related role.
- Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Conceptual knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.
- Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Preferred: Internship or project experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
- Preferred: Knowledge of industry-standard design principles, including parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, and manufacturing processes.
- Preferred: Knowledge of environmental requirements for aircraft and space components.
