About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience in an industrial maintenance environment. You will work alongside maintenance craftsmen to apply your technical training to real-world projects. You will support the maintenance, engineering, and production teams to ensure safe and reliable plant operations. This role includes an on-the-job training plan with designated team members.
What you'll do#
- Perform machine rebuilding, equipment installation, and troubleshooting.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and daily equipment inspections.
- Monitor machine performance to help control downtime.
- Locate mechanical or electrical issues by observing devices, listening for problems, and using precision measuring instruments.
- Disassemble machinery to remove or replace defective parts using tools such as hoists, cranes, and hand or power tools.
- Collaborate with production and engineering on lean and continuous improvement projects.
- Apply safety and maintenance procedures while maintaining a clean work environment.
- Assist with the startup and commissioning of plant assets.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment at an accredited university, college, or trade school.
- Pursuit of at least a two-year technical degree in Mechanical Maintenance or a related field.
- Completion of your first year of core technical courses.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
- Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions.
