About the role#
The Mechanical Engineering Intern supports the coordination and control of engineering procedures within our manufacturing processes. You will work closely with production teams to improve methods and maintain quality standards across our facility.
What you'll do#
- Implement and monitor setup and operating procedures for production equipment.
- Recommend improvements for existing equipment, processes, and products.
- Plan the layout and installation of new production operations.
- Communicate with Research and Development to ensure efficient product design.
- Assist the Maintenance and Operations groups with troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.
- Develop instruction manuals and maintain quality system documentation.
- Analyze production problems, write work orders, and supervise repairs.
- Act as a technical liaison between Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, and suppliers.
- Participate in budget preparation and capital equipment proposals.
- Monitor equipment performance and apply statistical methods to estimate manufacturing requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program, preferably Mechanical, Computer, or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor.
- Experience with ERP systems for creating manufacturing standards and bills of materials.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience.
- Knowledge of physics, chemistry, electronics, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Familiarity with custom automatic equipment and control circuits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

- Compensation: $20 to $23 per hour.
- Status: Full-time, paid, rolling internship.
