About the role#
Sonos is looking for a Software Engineering Co-op to join our team in Boston for the Winter 2027 term. This is a 6-month, full-time position where you will work on audio product development, learn from industry experts, and contribute to internal software tools. You will be part of a collaborative team and gain experience with the software development lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Build and test software for internal audio product development tools.
- Research machine learning and signal processing techniques.
- Collaborate with developers to learn about continuous integration and ticketing systems.
- Gain a deep understanding of the audio product development process.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university, with a preference for Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related fields.
- Academic exposure to Digital Signal Processing concepts like filtering and aliasing.
- Familiarity with embedded concepts, such as working with development boards.
- Experience with Linux or command line interfaces.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new technical areas.
- Strong communication skills and a readiness to debate ideas.
- Interest in audio technology and musical applications, including past academic or hobby projects.
Location & details#
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
- Schedule: January 2027 to June 2027.
- Work Modality: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 4 days per week onsite in the Boston office.
- Employment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
