About the role#
We are looking for a Mechanical Sourcing Co-op to join our team for the Winter 2027 term. You will work within the Mechanical Sourcing and Supplier Operations group to improve how we manage materials and manufacturing assets. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position based in our Boston office.
What you'll do#
- Analyze material usage across resin, paint, rubber, and metals to support our sourcing strategy.
- Build and manage a new database for material data.
- Create a raw material part numbering scheme and support formal BOM level creation.
- Develop sourcing tools, metrics, and dashboards to track performance.
- Build tools to help mitigate risks related to raw materials, including compliance with RoHS, conflict minerals, and PFAS regulations.
- Establish a formal asset management process and database for MTS parts.
- Maintain an asset library that tracks condition, shot counts, locations, and identification numbers for tools, fixtures, jigs, and automation equipment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (junior/senior standing preferred).
- Experience collecting, normalizing, and manipulating datasets using Excel, SQL, Python, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT for research and data processing.
- Experience with data warehousing or BI tools such as Snowflake and Tableau.
- Knowledge of PLM, PDM, or ERP/BOM structures.
- Interest in manufacturing, plastics, or procurement.
- Ability to work independently with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exposure to sustainability or materials compliance topics is a plus.

- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
- Schedule: Full-time, January 2027 through June 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid, with a minimum of 4 days per week onsite.
