About the role#
As a Software Engineer I, you will assist in the development and maintenance of software systems for aerospace applications. You will work within the Mission Solutions and Technologies business area to support command, control, and communications systems. This position is for 2026 interns only.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of software components.
- Debug and troubleshoot software issues.
- Write and maintain code documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Support the integration of software with hardware systems.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in software development.
- Basic proficiency in C++, Java, or Python.
- Conceptual understanding of engineering principles and practices.
- Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required).
- Preferred qualifications include internship experience, exposure to the Aerospace and Defense industry, and familiarity with data structures.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral is helpful.
