About the role#
CACI is looking for Software Engineering Interns for the Summer 2027 term. This is a 12-week internship starting in May. You will work directly with our team in Reston, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Write, test, and debug software code and suggest improvements for existing applications.
- Assist with the integration and development of new Artificial Intelligence capabilities.
- Follow specifications from senior staff to build critical components like security, rules infrastructure, and custom adapters.
- Use source debuggers and visual development environments to profile, analyze, and optimize software performance.
- Employ best practices for design, unit testing, and test plan development.
- Write software user manuals.
- Participate in team meetings, including daily standups and Scrum sessions.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Familiarity with web development technologies including Java, JavaScript, HTML, HTML5, CSS, Groovy, Grails, and Angular.
- Experience with backend development tools, specifically Python and Java.
- Familiarity with hardware or software tools at an academic level.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Experience with data science tools, previous internships, or participation in extracurricular activities is a plus.

- Compensation: Paid position with a salary range of $45,900 to $91,900.
