About the role#
CACI is seeking a Software Development/Engineer Intern to join the DarkBlue Intelligence Group for the Summer 2027 term. This team develops software to gather information from the Dark Web and end-to-end encrypted applications. You will help build tools that allow analysts to query data and interact with the Dark Web in a secure environment. This is a paid, part-time position.
What you'll do#
- Work across all phases of the application lifecycle.
- Support the product lifecycle, including systems engineering, requirement analysis, technical design, integration, implementation, and deployment.
- Collaborate within an agile team environment.
- Use proven design patterns and open-source tools while keeping up with technology trends.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time undergraduate, graduate, or doctorate student in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience with modern software development using languages such as Python, JavaScript, or GoLang.
- Proficiency with modern web application development, including Node.js and frameworks like Angular or React.
- Working knowledge of GitHub for task tracking, branched development, and pull requests.
- Strong debugging and run time skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Experience with Linux, ElasticSearch, and Amazon Web Services is preferred.
- Familiarity with Secure Shell (SSH), remote computing, web scraping, and Tor Network routing is a plus.
Location & details#
- This role is remote with core hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST.
- Optional office space is available in Reston, Virginia, and Charlottesville, Virginia.
- This is a part-time internship.
