About the role#
CACI is looking for a software engineering student to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. You will support software development, operations, and maintenance for Air Force Command and Control and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance systems. This role involves building technology that bridges software and intelligence community needs to improve mission effectiveness and information processing. You will work within a team environment to deliver technical solutions.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, operate, and maintain software, firmware, and computing systems.
- Integrate software with products that include non-IT engineering or scientific disciplines like hardware, communications, or aerospace.
- Apply software standards, processes, and tools throughout the system life cycle.
- Generate multidisciplinary solutions, including simulations, tactical displays, and sensor systems.
- Interface with customers, suppliers, and other technical personnel.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- At least 1 year of experience with modern software development, specifically Java, JavaScript, and Spring.
- At least 1 year of experience with web application development using Node.js and Angular.
- Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Git, Bitbucket, or GitHub.
- Experience with build, packaging, and deployment tools like Jenkins, Maven, NPM, and RPM.
- Strong debugging and run time skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Preferred qualifications include a 3.0 GPA, previous internship experience, and demonstrated leadership or teamwork capabilities.
Location & details#
- This is a part-time, paid internship based in Omaha, Nebraska.
- The role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring at least 2 days per week in the office.
