About the role#
This Pharmacy Intern position offers practical experience within a community pharmacy setting at a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart location. The role is designed to prepare future pharmacists for success by providing real world training that complements academic studies in fields such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, or Biomedical Sciences. Interns will gain exposure to the expanding roles of community pharmacists while receiving support from a national brand.
What you'll do#
- Provide exceptional customer service and deliver health, beauty, and convenience services to the community.
- Acknowledge all customers approaching the pharmacy and ensure they are served promptly.
- Maintain strict privacy requirements, including customer confidentiality and consent management.
- Remain clearly identifiable to the public while on duty.
- Develop skills in patient communication, disease state management, drug therapy, and over-the-counter product counseling.
- Learn the operational skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant academic program, such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, Health Administration, or Biomedical Sciences.
- A strong commitment to customer service and patient care.
- Capability to handle confidential information with professional discretion.
- Interest in gaining practical experience in a community pharmacy environment.
