About the role#
As a Civil Engineer Intern for the Energy and Industrial group, you will work with civil project engineers to execute project work. These projects involve site design for renewable energy, power plants, electrical substations, and heavy industrial facilities. You will work under the direction of experienced engineers and contribute to multi-disciplined project teams. This role is a full-time, paid internship scheduled for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, technical specifications, and engineering reports.
- Evaluate mass earthwork cut and fill quantities and site grading layouts.
- Prepare layouts for stormwater and sanitary drainage systems.
- Assist in the layout of plant roadways and trackwork systems.
- Work with civil project designers to accurately portray designs in project 3-D models.
- Use data and modern tools, including automation and AI, to solve engineering problems and improve workflows.
What you'll need#
- Expected graduation date in Winter 2027 or Spring 2028 toward a BS or MS in Civil Engineering.
- Solid understanding of basic civil and geotechnical engineering concepts.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
