About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site at our Brentwood or Knoxville, Tennessee offices. The program lasts 12 weeks, starting on May 17, 2027, though individual start dates may be flexible. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects to build your technical, social, and ethical engineering skills.
What you'll do#
- Support engineering tasks to build professional skills.
- Assist with project research and preliminary design calculations.
- Help prepare design plans, cost estimates, and special provisions.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Learn basic Civil Engineering principles and design software.
- Complete training on assigned tasks and follow company policies regarding resources and conduct.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Undergraduate or Graduate Civil Engineering program.
- Graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and design tools.
- Ability to follow direction from managers and mentors.
- Experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
