About the role#
This co-op position supports the mRNA Drug Substance Process Characterization Data Analytics and Visualization team. You will develop tools and workflows to analyze, visualize, and streamline analytical data. The work directly impacts development decisions, lab operations, and assay performance tracking. You will collaborate with scientists to improve how data is processed, interpreted, and communicated to enable faster decision-making.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement data analysis and visualization tools for analytical datasets including HPLC, LC-MS, ELISA, and qPCR.
- Build automated workflows for data ingestion, cleaning, and transformation from instrument outputs or shared databases.
- Develop intuitive data visualization dashboards for assay output, performance, trends, and control.
- Support statistical analysis of assay performance such as accuracy, precision, and linearity.
- Collaborate with scientists to identify pain points and build practical data-based solutions.
- Document tools and workflows to ensure internal use and scalability.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Analytical Chemistry, Bioengineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB.
- Experience with data analysis, statistics, and visualization.
- Ability to work with structured and semi-structured data.
- Experience with scientific data pipelines, ETL workflows, or building dashboards.
- Familiarity with analytical laboratory data like chromatography or plate-based assays.
- Knowledge of assay validation principles and interest in workflow optimization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for translating technical results.
Location & details#
- Location: Waltham, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Enrollment: Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university for the duration of the co-op.
- Authorization: Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
