About the role#
This co-op position offers exposure to various engineering departments at Samtec. You will work on assigned projects while building relationships with your team. The role requires a focus on customer needs and the ability to manage your own tasks from start to finish. You will learn about signal integrity fundamentals, frequency and time domain testing, and the use of equipment like VNAs and TDRs.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the Signal Integrity Lab by running tests, taking measurements, and calibrating machines.
- Support the implementation of new processes, tools, and characterizations.
- Create documentation and reports for customers and internal designers.
- Track multiple projects and log your progress and findings.
- Define and solve problems using a systematic approach.
- Prioritize tasks and multitask effectively.
- Use tools such as MATLAB, Excel, ANSYS Electromagnetic Suite, and ADS.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Electrical Engineering, specifically at a Sophomore or Junior level.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work with and take direction from senior engineers.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- A willingness to learn new methods and technologies.
- Initiative and a resourceful approach to new solutions.
- Previous experience in a professional office setting is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
- Candidates local to the Harrisburg area with reliable transportation are strongly preferred.
- This is a paid, full-time, rolling term position.
