About the role#
Samtec is hiring an Electrical Engineering student for a hardware design co-op. You will join our team to work on electronic hardware that supports marketing, engineering, and production teams. This role involves the full design cycle, from initial concepts to hands-on testing in the lab.
What you'll do#
- Brainstorm preliminary concepts with engineering and marketing teams.
- Design and develop printed circuit boards (PCBs).
- Collaborate with Signal Integrity engineers and layout designers.
- Work closely with software engineers.
- Document test plans and results.
- Oversee the manufacturing and assembly of prototypes.
- Perform system bring-up and testing.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Basic understanding of digital and analog circuits.
- Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools like Orcad and Allegro.
- Experience with electrical lab test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated work style.
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly and solve problems.
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages is a plus.
