About the role#
Samtec is hiring an Electrical Engineering student for a hardware design co-op position. You will work on electronic hardware designs that support engineering, marketing, and production teams. This role involves the full design cycle, from initial concepts to hands-on laboratory validation.
What you'll do#
- Brainstorm early concepts with marketing and engineering teams.
- Design and develop printed circuit boards.
- Work alongside Signal Integrity engineers, layout designers, and software engineers.
- Document test plans and record results.
- Manage the manufacturing and assembly of prototypes.
- Perform system bring-up and testing in the lab.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Basic understanding of analog and digital circuits.
- Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools like Orcad or Allegro.
- Experience with lab equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to learn new tools quickly.
- Knowledge of scripting or programming languages is a plus.
