About the role#
Samtec Inc is hiring a Signal Integrity Engineering Co-Op to join the team in Mechanicsburg. This role provides exposure to various engineering departments and tasks. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers to complete projects and support the Signal Integrity Lab. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the Signal Integrity Lab by running tests, taking measurements, and calibrating machines.
- Support the implementation of new processes, tools, and characterizations.
- Create reports and documentation for customers and internal designers.
- Track multiple projects while logging progress and findings.
- Define and solve problems using a systematic approach.
- Communicate with internal designers and customers using English.
- Prioritize tasks and multitask to meet project goals.
- Learn about signal integrity fundamentals, frequency and time domain testing, and the use of equipment like VNA and TDR.
- Gain experience with post-processing tools such as MATLAB and Excel, as well as 3D field solvers.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering as a sophomore or junior.
- Local to the Harrisburg area with reliable transportation for daily on-site work.
- Previous work experience in a professional office setting.
- Willingness to learn new methods and technologies.
- Ability to take direction from senior engineers.
- Resourceful and creative approach to problem-solving.
