About the role#
As a Volunteer Engagement Intern, you will support the recruitment, onboarding, and coordination of volunteers. You will assist in maintaining accurate volunteer records, facilitating service projects, and planning appreciation events. This role provides an opportunity to work under a supervisor who holds a Certified in Volunteer Administration credential.
What you'll do#
- Create and update email templates for volunteer onboarding, scheduling, and activities.
- Assist with volunteer recruitment efforts, including community outreach and presentations.
- Welcome and support volunteer groups during service projects at facility locations.
- Collaborate on the planning and execution of volunteer appreciation communications and events.
- Generate monthly reports regarding volunteer statistics and program data.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational and effective communication skills.
- Experience or interest in community outreach and volunteer management.
- Ability to create engaging, accessible communications and resources.
- Pursuing studies in Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Public Health, or Human Resources.
Location & details#
- Location: Greenville, South Carolina.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site at Safe Harbor facilities, with occasional travel to Greenville, Anderson, Oconee, or Pickens Counties.
- Availability: Minimum of 4 hours per week during weekday business hours (Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–4:30 pm), with some evening and weekend hours required.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
