About the role#
As a Volunteer Engagement Intern, you will support the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of volunteers. You will assist in maintaining accurate data records, coordinating service projects for community groups, and developing resources to improve the volunteer experience. This role reports to the Volunteer and Development Manager and provides an opportunity to work under a supervisor certified in volunteer administration.
What you'll do#
- Create and update email templates for volunteer onboarding, scheduling, and activities.
- Assist with recruitment efforts, including community tabling events and presentations.
- Welcome and support volunteer groups during service projects at facility locations.
- Collaborate on planning and executing volunteer appreciation events and communications.
- Generate monthly reports tracking volunteer statistics and hours.
- Maintain and update volunteer records, policies, and role descriptions.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience or interest in community outreach and volunteer management.
- Ability to create engaging, accessible communications.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Public Health, or Human Resources.
- Ability to provide 2 to 3 references, with at least one from an academic source.
Location & details#
- Location: Greenville, South Carolina, with occasional travel required to Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site, requiring a minimum of 4 hours per week during business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm), with some evening and weekend availability.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid, part-time internship.
