Anderson/Oconee/Pickens Prevention Intern

About the role#

The Anderson/Oconee/Pickens Prevention Intern will work with the prevention coordinator to implement community-based programming aimed at preventing domestic abuse. This role focuses on delivering the Relationship Education Project (REP) and building partnerships with schools, faith communities, and local organizations to increase awareness and education across the service area.

What you'll do#

• Facilitate REP-1 presentations in schools and community groups.
• Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with schools and community organizations to prioritize domestic violence prevention.
• Represent the organization at outreach and tabling events.
• Research, edit, and update downloadable content for the prevention curriculum.
• Collaborate with the Education team to develop and implement a strategic education and prevention plan.
• Document data collected from school curriculum sessions.
• Participate in staff meetings, team meetings, and training sessions.

What you'll need#

• Current undergraduate status, preferably as a junior or senior.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to relate to others in an empathetic and non-judgmental manner.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel related to the internship.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
• Public speaking experience is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Relevant majors include Psychology, Public Health, Sociology, Communications, Political Science, or Human Resources.
