About the role#
Safe Harbor is looking for a Prevention Intern for the Fall 2026 term. You will work with the prevention coordinator to deliver community-based programming aimed at preventing domestic abuse. This role focuses on the Relationship Education Project and other training initiatives designed to provide youth and community members with essential skills. This is an unpaid, part-time position that may fulfill practicum requirements for your degree program.
What you'll do#
- Facilitate REP-1 presentations in local schools and community groups.
- Represent the organization at outreach and tabling events.
- Collaborate with the Education team to build and carry out a strategic prevention plan for Greenville County.
- Research and update educational content to ensure it remains culturally relevant.
- Participate in staff meetings, team training, and ongoing education sessions.
- Handle data entry and documentation related to school curriculum outcomes.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student, preferably a junior or senior.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in community settings.
- Valid SC Driver’s License and reliable transportation for work-related travel.
- Capacity to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
- Public speaking experience is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Relevant majors include Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Communications, Human Resources, Criminal Justice, Political Science, or Nursing.
