About the role#
Safe Harbor is looking for a Development Intern for the Fall 2026 term. You will support our fundraising and outreach efforts in Greenville and the surrounding counties. This is an unpaid, part-time position that requires on-site work at our facilities.
What you'll do#
- Assist with community engagement by attending tabling events and giving informational presentations.
- Maintain and update the donor database, ensuring all records are accurate and secure.
- Help with donor communications, including drafting thank-you notes and preparing tax receipts.
- Support the planning and promotion of seasonal fundraising initiatives and donor events.
- Research prospective donors and community partners.
- Secure in-kind donations to support our programs and client needs.
What you'll need#
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- A detail-oriented approach and the ability to work independently.
- Research skills to find and summarize information from various sources.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional travel to partner sites.
- Enrollment in fields such as Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Psychology, or Sociology.

- Location: Greenville, South Carolina.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Minimum of 4 hours per week during business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm), with occasional evening and weekend hours required.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid position.
