About the role#
The Field Engineer Intern position is a full-time, paid opportunity based on-site in Cedar Rapids or Des Moines, Iowa. This role offers a chance to gain practical experience in commercial real estate construction.
What you'll do#
You will work directly with superintendents to support daily operations. Your primary focus is to gain a first-hand understanding of how a job site functions. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with project document flow and scheduling.
- Supporting quality control and safety protocols.
- Helping with various project-specific tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely-related field.
- Within 18 months of graduating with a four-year degree.
- Able to work 40 hours per week for a minimum of three months.
- Ability to read and interpret contracts, specifications, and architectural or engineering drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while working toward job site efficiency.
