About the role#
This internship introduces students to the field of public accounting. Interns are treated as full-time team members and are assigned a Career Advocate to help establish personalized goals. The program includes an initial orientation covering administrative and professional topics, as well as training on accounting and tax software systems.
What you'll do#
- Communicate directly with clients and internal staff.
- Perform client work both in the office and at client locations.
- Manage compliance tasks related to Federal, State, and Local taxation, including partnerships, corporations, international, and wealth-management practice areas.
- Analyze and develop an understanding of internal controls.
- Create and maintain workpaper documentation for client engagements.
- Maintain a full-time schedule for a minimum of eight weeks.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior academic standing.
- Completion of introductory accounting courses.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Prior completion of an Auditing or Tax course is preferred.
