About the role#
The Entrepreneurial Services Group at RubinBrown LLP partners with business owners to help them improve and grow. This team works with emerging enterprises by providing a broad range of accounting and tax services. This is a paid, full-time internship for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Apply general accounting procedures to client engagements.
- Plan and execute day-to-day activities for small business clients.
- Review and format client documentation for financial statements.
- Prepare payroll tax reports and filings.
- Assist with income tax planning for small businesses and individuals.
- Maintain client records and general ledgers on automated systems.
- Perform attest procedures such as reviews and compilations.
- Prepare income tax returns, 1099s, and W-2 forms.
- Communicate accounting and tax matters to the engagement team.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
- You are working toward CPA certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Strong technical skills and a willingness to learn in a technology-driven environment.
- You must maintain strict adherence to professional ethics.

- This position is based on-site in Kansas City, Missouri.
- This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term.
