About the role#
The Entrepreneurial Services Group at RubinBrown LLP partners with business owners to help improve and grow their businesses. Interns in this department gain exposure to a broad range of accounting, business, and tax issues while working with emerging entrepreneurial enterprises.
What you'll do#
- Apply general accounting procedures across various client engagements.
- Plan and execute day-to-day activities for small business clients in accordance with firm standards.
- Review and format client documentation for the preparation of financial statements and tax returns.
- Perform attest procedures, including reviews and compilations of financial statements.
- Assist with income tax planning and the preparation of income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
- Maintain client records and general ledgers on automated systems.
- Prepare payroll tax reports, filings, 1099s, and W-2 forms.
- Communicate accounting and tax matters to team members and establish direct relationships with clients.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Progress toward CPA certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
- Strong technical skills and a commitment to learning in a technology-driven environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to utilize analytical and research capabilities to meet client requirements.
- Strong team orientation and leadership potential.
