About the role#
As a Propulsion Intern, you will support the development and operation of the Archimedes engine for the Neutron launch vehicle. You will join a team that manages engine architecture and performance, working alongside the Neutron development, Stennis testing, and vehicle operations teams.

- Apply engineering concepts to solve real technical challenges.
- Work closely with mentors and team members to grow your technical and professional skills.
- Attend regular 1:1 meetings with supervisors to track progress and receive feedback.
- Participate in tech talks and professional networking events.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s, master's, or doctorate program in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical, or Mechanical engineering.
- At least one semester of school remaining after the internship.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- At least 3 months of applied engineering experience, including internships, laboratory work, or personal and team projects.
- Preferred qualifications include a GPA of 3.5 or above and 6+ months of applied engineering experience.
- Experience with Siemens NX, ANSYS Workbench, Python, fluid dynamics, fluid systems, heat transfer, and liquid rocket engines is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Long Beach, California.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Commitment: Full-time, on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning in January, February, or March 2027.
- Compensation: $28.00 USD per hour.
- This is a paid internship. Sponsorship is not provided.
