About the role#
This is a full-time summer internship with the Structured Credit & Trading team at Reinsurance Group of America. You will join a group that manages the company's structured asset portfolio, including RMBS, CMBS, CLO, and ABS. This role offers exposure to the investment department of an insurance company and teaches you how credit and trading teams make investment decisions to meet income goals and asset liability management objectives.
What you'll do#
- Work directly with the Structured Credit & Trading team.
- Support traders and analysts with due diligence processes and reporting.
- Learn to analyze industries, issuers, collateral, and the structural characteristics of structured products.
- Build new tool sets to improve analysis and reporting workflows.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time Junior, Senior, or Graduate student at an accredited US university.
- A degree path in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- A 3.5+ GPA and a track record of graduating with Honors.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, with a preference for Python and SQL.
- Experience with scripting or development to extract, clean, and analyze datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to learn and ask thoughtful questions.
