About the role#
This is a full-time, paid student opportunity for the Winter 2027 term. By applying, you will be considered for various developer roles within RBC Technology & Operations, including positions in full stack, mobile, API, web, Hadoop, and automation development.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with peers to develop code and document components.
- Translate requirements into functional specifications and coordinate design phases.
- Identify, track, and resolve technical issues.
- Create and review technical design documents.
- Facilitate meetings to design, troubleshoot, and execute projects.
- Participate in walkthrough reviews of code, programs, and unit test plans.
- Conduct unit testing and build automated unit testing frameworks.
- Improve performance through tuning and drive technical platform evolution.
- Plan design activities, estimate tasks, and manage work packages.
- Provide third-level support for various technologies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at a Canadian post-secondary institution in computer science, engineering, or technology.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience or understanding of programming languages, databases, frameworks, and code management tools.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Agile, Waterfall, and Iterative methods.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Leadership acumen and a self-driven approach to work.
- Knowledge of UML, hand-coding capability, and cross-browser development experience are considered assets.
