About the role#
This internship is a 9-month program based in a Commercial Centre. You will work in a proactive, face-to-face role within the Commercial Banking platform. A mentor will coach you throughout your training, which consists of on-the-job experience, self-study, online courses, and classroom sessions. This role prepares you to provide service to commercial business clients regarding accounts, operating services, credit, lending, and deposits.
What you'll do#
- Deliver financial advice and solutions tailored to your clients.
- Use sales-enabling tools for planning, prospecting, and pre-call preparation.
- Improve the client experience through a continuous-improvement approach.
- Develop a needs-based sales strategy to grow revenue and deepen client relationships.
What you'll need#
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in business administration, commerce, or a related field.
- Experience in commercial lending and previous banking experience in a relationship management role.
- Success in business development, specifically in prospecting, cold calling, and acquiring new clients.
- Experience with computer modeling, analysis, and financial statement review.
- Proficiency with emerging communications and technology, including digital banking and web-based meetings.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- An entrepreneurial attitude and a commitment to continuous learning.
