About the role#
Systems Engineering interns at our Portsmouth facility support the full product lifecycle, from initial development to post-deployment. You will work alongside engineering teams to integrate hardware and software, verify system requirements, and ensure our products function reliably. This position offers a direct look at how complex systems are assembled, tested, and maintained.
What you'll do#
- Integrate hardware and software components.
- Develop and execute test plans and procedures.
- Debug system functions and interfaces.
- Perform functional analysis of real-world and test data.
- Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses.
- Maintain engineering specifications, drawings, and databases.
- Prepare and present technical reports and briefings.
- Participate in team, working group, and interface meetings.
- Support product qualification and sustainment activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Advanced STEM degree program with at least 60 credit hours completed.
- Experience troubleshooting technical issues through coursework, research, or previous internships.
- Familiarity with common commercial test equipment, such as oscilloscopes or spectrum analyzers.
- Understanding of electrical, mechanical, or software system integration.
- Proficiency or exposure to C, C++, or C#.
- Experience with MATLAB or Python scripting for data analysis.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and interface control documentation.
- Exposure to military platforms like ships, ground combat systems, or aircraft is a plus.
- Active and transferable U.S. government Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain an interim clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required.

- Travel: Test event support may require travel, estimated at up to 20% of the time.
