About the role#
Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern to join the team in Windsor Locks, Connecticut for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, on-site position reports to a Systems Integration Manager and provides engineering support across assigned programs within the aviation and aerospace component manufacturing sector.
What you'll do#
- Develop, manage, and allocate requirements for engine control systems.
- Perform control system analyses to support requirements development and verification activities.
- Integrate engine control system components and subsystems.
- Coordinate requirements and verification plans across multidisciplinary teams.
- Support the validation and verification of product requirements through analysis, development testing, and acceptance, qualification, or certification testing.
- Analyze engine parameter data and support investigations using Root Cause and Corrective Action methodologies.
- Identify technical issues down to the component level for resolution.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Advanced degree program in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Experience gained through coursework, projects, research, or previous on-the-job roles.
- Strong analytical capability and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, DOORS/DXL, MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape/Dymola, and SysML/MagicDraw/Cameo.
- Understanding of system controls, dynamics modeling, verification, and validation.
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance if required.
- Experience with gas turbine engines, aircraft systems, or comparable systems is preferred.
