About the role#
This Systems Engineering Co-Op position involves working on avionics capabilities for MH-47 and MH-60 helicopters. You will join a team in Cedar Rapids to support the development and integration of these aircraft systems. This is a full-time, paid position requiring on-site work. U.S. citizenship is required for this role.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with systems engineers to develop and integrate avionics for specific helicopter platforms.
- Capture, decompose, allocate, review, and verify system-level requirements.
- Help develop engineering requirements and test procedures for new capabilities.
- Conduct hands-on testing in Systems Integration Laboratories that replicate cockpit and avionics environments.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field, continuing through the end of the internship.
- An interest in aviation, avionics, software, systems engineering, or testing.
- Coursework or experience with requirements, electronics, embedded systems, or systems design.
- Familiarity with Agile development or tools like DOORS, JAMA, JIRA, or ALM.
- Experience troubleshooting technical projects when initial attempts fail.
- The confidence to ask questions when you encounter something you do not understand.
