    About the role#

    The Effector RF Design Department at Raytheon is seeking a Mechanical Engineering intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within a multi-discipline team to develop complex Radio Frequency (RF) systems, including antennas, circuit cards, and test equipment. This internship provides hands-on experience through technical mentorship and the opportunity to shadow experienced professionals.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate with team members to solve complex engineering problems.
    • Create 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for RF product designs.
    • Develop prototype hardware designs and coordinate their fabrication.
    • Perform hands-on integration and test support for prototype hardware.
    • Hold design and drawing reviews with peers and subject matter experts.

    What you'll need#

    • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM major.
    • Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
    • Academic coursework in areas such as manufacturing and design, thermodynamics, heat transfer, vibrations, materials, mechatronics, or statics.
    • U.S. citizenship is required.
    • An active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance is required prior to your start date.

    • This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Tucson, Arizona.
    • The role is scheduled for the Summer 2027 term.
