About the role#
Blue Canyon Technologies is hiring a Mechanical Engineer Intern for our summer program. This is a full-time, 11-week position starting May 25, 2027. You will work on-site in Lafayette, Colorado, supporting our team as we build small spacecraft.
What you'll do#
- Support mechanical engineering staff in the development of structures, mechanisms, and electro-mechanical assemblies for small spacecraft.
- Collaborate with mechanical and aerospace engineers to create drawings.
- Design assembly fixtures and create bills of materials.
- Take on additional design and analysis tasks, especially if you are pursuing an advanced degree.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment at an accredited college or university, with plans to be enrolled for the fall 2027 semester.
- Progress toward a BS or MS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Completion of at least two years of coursework, including Materials Science, Static Mechanics, and CAD training like SolidWorks.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Demonstrated leadership through school or extracurricular projects.
- The ability to learn new processes quickly, multi-task, and communicate effectively within a team.

- Duration: May 25, 2027, to August 6, 2027.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week.
- This is a paid internship.
