About the role#
This is a full-time, on-site co-op position based in Burnsville, Minnesota. The role spans from January through July or August 2027. You will work within a cross-disciplinary team to support the design, testing, and troubleshooting of sensors for the aviation industry. This position requires U.S. citizenship to access program information.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the design and fabrication of new aerospace sensor systems.
- Support current manufacturing processes and existing product lines.
- Conduct investigations, design improvements, and documentation updates for existing products.
- Perform tolerance analyses on components and assemblies to ensure proper fit and function.
- Use CAD solid modeling to prepare component and assembly drawings.
- Write test requests and analyze data to support design verification.
- Specify material joining methods, including welding and brazing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM major.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the co-op.
- Experience with mechanical design and modeling software such as CREO, ANSYS, or MATLAB.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Prior internship, co-op, or work experience at RTX is preferred.
