About the role#
The Network Systems Engineering Intern will join the ARINC Global Network (AGN) team. This position focuses on the design, development, and testing of network security and communication technologies. You will work on projects that support critical aviation and transportation infrastructure, ensuring high availability and secure data transmission.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Corporate Security Teams to plan and implement AGN system security strategies.
- Design, document, test, and maintain network security systems.
- Create requirements for infrastructure security systems and subsystems.
- Conduct threat and vulnerability analysis, risk mitigation, and penetration testing.
- Apply cybersecurity methodologies to network design to ensure secure business operations.
- Provide post-fielding support and resolve operational issues involving L2 and L3 routing.
- Work as a technical team member on projects utilizing high availability concepts.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics) obtained by the start date.
- Experience with IP networks and network management concepts through coursework, research, or previous work.
- Ability to use independent judgment to make decisions.
- Capacity to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a productive work effort.
- Understanding of engineering reliability and availability.
- U.S. citizenship is required to access program information.
