About the role#
This is a full-time, on-site co-op position based in Jamestown, North Dakota. The role spans the Summer and Fall 2027 terms, requiring a commitment from May or June through December. You will support the development of aircraft mechanical cargo systems through design, integration, and testing. This role requires U.S. citizenship.
What you'll do#
- Perform engineering work, applied research, and design for new products.
- Develop, design, and test mechanical components and systems.
- Operate CAD software to create component designs and engineering drawings.
- Resolve day-to-day technical issues on production lines to minimize disruptions.
- Participate in technical preparations for new product implementation.
- Consult with engineers, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders on project requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware and software designers, test engineers, supply chain, quality, and field service teams.
- Ensure products are produced according to specifications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Completion of at least 45 credit hours by the start of the co-op session.
- Experience with CAD software such as NX, Catia, Creo, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Autodesk.
- Ability to maintain active enrollment through the end of the co-op.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and working on cross-functional teams is a plus.
- Prior internship or work experience with RTX is beneficial.
