About the role#
This internship is a summer program focused on Industrial Engineering within the Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality organization at Raytheon. You will gain exposure to factory life cycles, including capacity planning, layout design, and process modeling. The role involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires time spent in factory areas.
What you'll do#
- Identify throughput constraints using capacity, simulation, and what-if scenario analysis.
- Drive factory improvement project priorities with analytical tools.
- Coordinate factory capability needs for yield improvements and new technology.
- Participate in projects to support constraint elimination.
- Apply Six Sigma and Lean principles, including value stream mapping, line balancing, and error proofing.
- Support manufacturing objectives for cost, quality, on-time delivery, and safety.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Actively enrolled through the completion of the internship.
- Completed at least 60 credit hours by the start of the session.
- Experience with Industrial Engineering processes, tools, and Microsoft Office.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
